Tampa Bay and remote

Build the work that outlasts you.

Identity, outreach, and operations for Christian ministries and nonprofits, in that order.

About Arise & Build

Ministries often know their mission. The operations live in one person's head.

Arise & Build Consulting is a Tampa Bay firm that helps Christian ministries and nonprofits turn good intentions into work that runs without the leader.

We serve executive directors, pastors, and ministry leads whose paperwork is in place and who have one recurring problem. The work is organizational consulting, built on the Nehemiah pattern: one section of the wall at a time, with the people closest to it.

What we stand for

Work that outlasts any one leader.

Our mission: to help Christian ministries and nonprofits say who they are, reach their community, and run on systems their people can keep.

Clarity comes first.Identity before activity. A ministry that cannot say who it is cannot reach anyone.
Systems serve convictions. We build around what you believe. We never ask you to set it aside.
The work ends when you do not need us.Every engagement closes with someone on your team running the work.

Nehemiah 2:18 (NKJV): "Let us rise up and build."

What we do

Clarify it. Share it. Make it run.

Three offers, each building on the one before. Start with the one your ministry needs now.

01 Identity / 2 weeks
Say who you are in one page.

For a ministry that struggles to explain itself to donors, churches, and volunteers.

Result
One-page identity and message statement, approved by the leader or board.
Done means
The statement is approved in writing and the team can say it in their own words.
MissionWhy the work exists
AudienceWho you serve and who you ask
MessageWhat you say in one sentence
ConvictionsWhat you will not trade away
02 Amplify / 6 weeks
Reach your community, online and in person.

For a ministry with a clear identity and too few people who know about it. Online and in-person marketing.

Result
A signup path that is live, one community event run, and a content rhythm handed off.
Done means
A visitor can sign up, the follow-up email goes out, and a team member owns the monthly rhythm.
Sample signup path
03 Optimize / 90 days
Put the workflow on a rhythm someone else owns.

For a leader whose recurring work stops when the leader is away.

Result
1 to 2 workflows written down, owned by someone else, and run for one full cycle without the leader.
Done means
A before-and-after measurement shows what changed, and the owner can run it without help.

Engagement

How to work with us

Every engagement follows the same three steps.

Step 1

Book the Scoping Call

Tell us the one problem that keeps returning. The terms are below.

Step 2

Choose the offer that fits

Identity, Amplify, or Optimize. The diagnosis tells you which one, or that none of them fits.

Step 3

Hand it off

Each engagement ends when your people run the work. Monthly support is available afterward through the Faithful Systems Partner relationship.

Where it starts

The Scoping Call

You describe the one problem that keeps returning. We sort out whether it is an identity, outreach, or operations problem, and whether it fits this work.

The one-page diagnosis names

  • Where the breach is and what keeps reopening it
  • Which of the three offers addresses it, or that none does
  • One first step your team can take without hiring anyone

Pricing. Offer pricing is shared in writing on the Scoping Call. Founding rates are open to Q4 2026 clients in exchange for a measured before-and-after and permission to share it.
Free tools

Try it before you book.

Two free tools you can use today. Bring either one to the Scoping Call.

Free download

The Burden Page

A one-page worksheet for the first move. Name the weight you carry, the strengths and gaps around it, and the people already beside you. It is the same page we start from on the Scoping Call.

Tell us who you are and the download opens right away.

The Two-Week Test

If you were gone for two weeks, what would stop?

List the recurring work in your ministry and rate it honestly. You get a one-page map of where the work depends on you, what that costs in hours, and the first step to hand it off. Your results appear on this page. No email required.

  1. Choose
  2. Rate
  3. Your map

Which recurring work runs through you?

Choose up to six. Add your own if it is not listed.

The method

The Five-Move Loop

Every offer runs on the same five moves, drawn from how Nehemiah rebuilt the wall.

01

Burden

Name the weight you carry and decide together whether this work fits.

02

Wall

Find the breach. You receive a written diagnosis within 3 business days.

03

Build

Build the smallest system that closes the breach.

04

Rhythm

Set the check-in cadence and name the person who holds it.

05

Witness

Measure again and show your board the before and after.

Systems that fit your convictions.

Matt Hilaire has spent 7 years in human services, including a runaway shelter and youth probation, and 4 years at Paychex in 401(k) service, account management, and implementation.

He serves in worship, discipleship, and men's ministry at a Tampa church and is completing a B.A. in Christian Ministry. The work starts with the leader's beliefs, so the systems built fit the convictions the ministry already holds.

Questions

Before you book

Do I have to hire you after the diagnosis?

No. The diagnosis is written to be useful on its own. If the first step it names is something your team can do without help, you keep the document and the fee covers the work.

How do I choose between the three offers?

Start with the first one that describes your situation. If people cannot explain what you do, start with Identity. If few people know about you, start with Amplify. If the work stalls when you are away, start with Optimize.

Can I try something before booking?

Yes. The Two-Week Test maps where your recurring work depends on you, and the Burden Page is a free worksheet for naming the weight you carry. Both are free, and you can bring either one to the Scoping Call.

Can a ministry with no revenue yet work with you?

Yes, in some cases. Established organizations with paperwork in place are the best fit, and some revenue helps. The Scoping Call is where we decide.

Is this a substitute for pastoral, counseling, legal, or financial advice?

No. Arise & Build provides organizational consulting only. It does not provide financial, legal, medical, or counseling services, and it does not replace the care of your pastor or a licensed professional.
